A sediment catchment area utilizes a fifty-five gallon drum with two-inch diameter weep holes wrapped in geotextile fabric for underground drainage. A minimum twelve-inch perimeter of one-and-a-half-inch washed gravel surrounds the drum, which is set into graded earth matching the existing grade. The top of the drum sits three inches minimum above grade and features a solid cover. Inside, a pump with a float and motor sits on a pump stand or block, with the discharge pipe anchored to the stand or drum wall.
