A typical pipe bend configuration is anchored by a cast-in-place concrete thrust block at the change in direction. The pipe fittings and bend angles are sized per schedule, with additional blocking provided horizontally as directed in the field. The soil surrounding the bedding and thrust block is undisturbed trench excavation.
