A temporary sediment control assembly consists of a rock barrier bag filter installed around a drop inlet to capture runoff sediment. Twenty-five millimeter rock is contained within pervious burlap bags or synthetic net bags with a three millimeter mesh, measuring approximately sixty centimeters long, thirty centimeters wide, and fifteen centimeters high. The barrier bags may be arranged in a single or double layer, ensuring they are placed without gaps around the perimeter of the drop inlet. When a double layer is specified, the top layer of bags must be placed so that no gaps are evident with the lower layer of bags. Filter fabric is installed within the drop inlet structure beneath the grate to provide secondary filtration before runoff water enters the drainage system.
