A horizontal construction or pour joint within a masonry wall assembly requires the interface to be roughened and cleaned, maintaining a one-and-a-half-inch spacing dimension. Vertical reinforcement continues through the joint, while horizontal reinforcement is placed where required with a three-eighths-inch minimum clearance. A cleanout is specified at the vertical reinforcement when the pour height exceeds five feet.
