This concrete paving expansion joint assembly incorporates one-half inch diameter smooth dowels spaced at eighteen inches on center with a sleeve on one side. The joint is detailed with expansive material filling the lower vertical gap, a backer rod positioned below the surface, and an upper sealant with a one-eighth inch deep concave joint and one-eighth inch radius edges. The overall joint width is three-eighths of an inch with a three-quarter inch depth to the backer rod.
