A water pipe with diameter D is set within a gravel backfill pipe zone providing a minimum of six inches of clearance below, six inches above, and eight inches on each side per WSDOT standard specifications 9-03.12(3). Above the pipe zone lies a layer of native backfill, followed by a crushed surfacing top course layer. The upper trench restoration is completed per COB standard detail 3155. Pipe size, elevation, and type are determined per plans, and trench restoration depths are defined in the drawing notes.
