An underground fire protection piping cathodic protection layout features a test station, a post indicator valve (PIV), and a fire department connection (FDC). Two number 4 AWG HMWPE bond cables connect across PVC pipe joints to metallic risers, supplemented by number 10 AWG THHN white drain and black anode cables. A prepackaged zinc anode is connected to the piping via a cable-to-pipe connection. All buried metallic joints are bonded per project specifications to ensure electrical continuity.
