The concrete pavement assembly consists of Portland cement concrete pavement placed over a compacted base course and compacted subgrade. Expansion joints, contraction joints with first and second sawcuts, and construction joints with asphalt emulsion are detailed to accommodate thermal movement. Contraction and expansion joints incorporate bituminous joint sealant and bond breaker tape. A thickened edge and sidewalk concrete detail indicate specific dimensions, radii, and brush finishes.
