Sacrificial anodes protect ductile iron valves, fittings, and risers of C900 PVC pipelines when installed in native soil at least three feet away from the pipe or fitting. The anode is placed below the bottom of the valve or fitting to a minimum depth of six feet and can be oriented horizontally or vertically. A pin brazed connection secures a joint bond cable or test station cable to the ductile iron or stainless steel pipe using a copper lug and a handy cap or equal. Multiple anodes maintain a minimum clear distance of ten feet from each other, and anode cables connect to a test station or directly to the pipe or fitting.
