A 12-inch heavy duty truck parking curb is constructed from Class A Portland cement concrete over asphalt concrete paving and base rock. The concrete section measures 8 inches wide and 27 inches minimum in total depth, extending 12 inches above the finished paving surface with a 1/2-inch radius top corner. Reinforcement consists of two number 4 bars at the top and bottom with 3 inches of clear cover from the sides, tied with number 4 bars hooked over continuous bars every 24 inches. The assembly rests on a compacted subgrade beneath 4 inches of base rock. Notes specify that scorelines shall be placed at 10 feet on center unless otherwise noted, and weepholes must be installed where landscaping slopes toward the curb at 10 feet on center or at each scoreline.
