A flexible expansion joint connects to ductile iron pipe and fittings utilizing number eight American Wire Gauge high molecular weight polyethylene bond cables across the joint. Exothermic welds and pin brazing secure the bond cables to the pipe. Pin brazed cable-to-pipe connections are detailed at reference details three and nine.
