The pavement transition detail shows a grind and overlay assembly abutting an existing asphalt concrete pavement and base. A sawcut line marks the edge of the pavement to match the existing surface. A two-inch depth grind and overlay extends two feet minimum or per plan, providing a smooth transition to the existing grade. A tack coat is applied beneath the new overlay. Surface improvements are provided per plan and corresponding details.
