A metal threshold plate spans the transition from a concrete floor slab to scheduled carpet at the base of a rated door. A maximum vertical clearance of one-half inch is maintained between the concrete and the underside of the assembly. A scheduled door fitted with a door sweep closes above the tapered metal threshold.
