A polyethylene service line connects from the gas main via a gas service tee and excess flow valve, running beneath the concrete sidewalk and gutter to the steel shield meter riser at the building exterior. The installation requires a minimum depth of bury of twenty-four inches, with a yellow copper tracer wire and tape wire spaced every six feet on center. Service locations are marked on curbs or sidewalks with an impressed delta symbol. All piping must comply with ASTM D2515 and PE 2406 designations.
