Fiber rolls are entrenched into the finished grade with a minimum of 3 to 12 inches of depth depending on the application and secured using 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch wood stakes spaced at 4 feet. Runoff water with sediment flows against the entrenched straw-bound fiber roll wrapped in plastic netting to filter water. For inlet protection, fiber rolls surround a drop inlet with a 1 foot wide by 6 inch deep sediment trap trench and fossil filter, maintaining a 2.5:1 slope. Wood stakes or metal rebar anchor the inlet protection assembly, which requires installation in a 3 to 5 inch deep trench.
