Standard bedding, pipe zone, and backfill zone requirements apply for a standard dimension ratio thirty-five sewer line installation. The bedding zone requires a minimum of six inches of free-draining granular material below the pipe, with pipe zone material extending up the sides to support the pipe, both compacted to a minimum of ninety percent relative density and having a sand equivalent of not less than thirty. The backfill zone extends twelve inches minimum above the pipe zone with free-draining granular material having a sand equivalent of not less than twenty and compacted to a minimum of ninety-five percent relative density. A new Portland cement concrete sidewalk is constructed above the backfill zone per landscape sheets.
