A vertical storm drain cleanout riser pipe terminates with a screw-type cap positioned two inches above the finished grade of the bioretention soil. The riser connects via an eighth bend to a wye branch fitting on the perforated main drainage pipe. The cleanout must be set in the bioretention planter area only as shown on the plans and installed vertically cut to length. The contractor must ensure the cleanout is set slightly above the finished grade of the bioretention planter soil to prevent covering the cleanout. The cleanout is terminated at the closest joint to the surface with a temporary plug until all backfill is complete and subgrade is finished, after which the final riser pipe is installed.
