Concrete thrust blocks and anchorages support underground water piping at valves, horizontal bends, and vertical or angled direction changes. Poured-in-place concrete thrust blocks bear against undisturbed trench soil to resist hydrodynamic forces and internal pressure thrusts at fittings. Flanged pipe connections join valves and bends to the main utility line.
