A concrete fillet is constructed adjacent to an existing traffic lane, featuring a thickened-edge expansion joint and a doweled contraction joint. A two-foot minimum thickness transition zone is located at the pavement edge. Dowels span across the contraction joint to transfer load between the pavement sections.
