The paving assembly consists of a 6-inch thick hot mix asphalt surface, with a deduct alternate option for 4 inches of hot mix asphalt. Below the asphalt, a 3-inch minimum layer of crushed surfacing top course with 5/8-inch minus aggregate is provided. This rests on a 6-inch minimum layer of crushed surfacing base course with 1-1/4-inch minus aggregate. The entire assembly is supported by suitable native soils compacted to 90 percent.
