A temporary interceptor swale for site erosion and sediment control features a level bottom width of two feet minimum and a depth of one foot minimum below the surrounding grade. Side slopes are formed at a two-to-one ratio, with the channel bottom and slopes stabilized by grass or rock as indicated. The surrounding earthen berm rises one foot minimum above the base, with outer slopes also constructed at a two-to-one gradient. Swale spacing ranges from fifty to three hundred feet depending on the site grade.
