This assembly consists of a two-inch diameter galvanized steel post embedded into a twelve-inch diameter concrete footing. The footing is constructed using Caltrans minor concrete and extends thirty inches below finished grade, with a two-inch clearance beneath the post base. The concrete surface is sloped away from the post at the finished grade to promote drainage. The sign is mounted to the post using theft-resistant brackets, bolts, nuts, and washers as specified in Caltrans Standard Plan RS4 and Specification Section 82. The sign height is set to a minimum of sixty inches, or eighty inches if located within an accessible route.
