The ten-foot-wide concrete valley gutter and dolly pad is cast six inches deep over an eight-inch rock base, flanked by asphalt concrete paving. The asphalt paving holds an edge one-eighth inch above the concrete surface. Longitudinal reinforcement consists of number four continuous bars on each side of the construction joints. Three-quarter-inch diameter by one-foot-six-inch smooth dowels are spaced at eighteen inches on center, with one side greased in a dowel insert.
