A four-inch slotted PVC schedule 40 pipe is embedded within a bed of gravel backfill for sub-surface drains adjacent to a concrete footing. The gravel trench is wrapped in Mirafi 140N geotextile filter fabric or an approved equal, maintaining a six-inch minimum clearance on both sides and six-inch minimum top and bottom. The wall bears on a concrete footing sized per structural drawings with gravel backfill positioned above the footing ledge.
