Plastic sheeting is anchored along slopes using sandbags spaced every three to six feet and secured in a minimum twelve-inch by six-inch trench backfilled with soil at the toe. Seams require a minimum eight-inch overlap, running up and down the slope unless the slope is less than ten feet in length. Taped seams are specified for long or wide slopes and areas subject to wind loading. Sandbags must be staked in place and tied together with twine, while the sheeting requires regular inspection for tears and open seams.
