The assembly is surfaced with a three-inch thick layer of bituminous paving. Below the surface course rests a six-inch thick Class 2 aggregate base requiring a minimum compaction of ninety-five percent. This aggregate base bears on a six-inch sub-base layer. The entire pavement section is supported by a prepared subgrade compacted to a minimum of ninety-five percent.
