A continuous pre-manufactured straw wattle sits partially embedded inside a prepared soil trench. Voids along the edges are filled with backfill to prevent underflow. A one-inch by one-inch wood stake pierces vertically through the center of the wattle, driven at a maximum spacing of six feet on center with a minimum embedment of eight inches and extending at least six inches above the top of the wattle.
