A pavement transition extends from an asphalt section to a concrete section over a sub base course, base course, and compacted subgrade. The transition features a thirty-inch tapered interface with a three-inch vertical step at the asphalt boundary and a two-inch thickness at the concrete edge. General notes specify constructing contraction joints at a fifteen-foot maximum spacing and at ramps, and expansion joints at two-hundred-foot maximum spacing at points of tangency and at ends of each driveway. A medium to coarse broom finish is required on the concrete surface.
