A soil stockpile features a 3:1 slope covered with a waterproof plastic membrane that is secured with anchors or weights to prevent displacement by wind or rain. Stacked gravel bags are placed around the base of the stockpile over the membrane extension. A silt fence is installed downslope from the stockpile base with a twelve-inch embedment depth and six-inch height criteria.
