A non-frame structural steel column is welded to a base plate anchored to a concrete footing or pilaster. The base plate rests on a three-inch non-shrink grout pad, with anchor bolts secured by double nuts and hardened washers. A four-inch grout hole matches the anchor bolt hole size. Square plate washers measuring one-half by four inches are provided typically at the embedded anchor bolt ends. The footing includes number four ties spaced at six inches with a minimum of three ties at the footing.
