A fifty-five gallon drum with two-inch diameter weep holes is embedded in earth to form a sediment catchment basin with filtered runoff collecting inside. The drum is surrounded by a twelve-inch minimum thickness of one-and-one-half-inch washed gravel wrapped with geotextile for underground drainage. A solid cover closes the top of the drum, positioned three inches minimum above existing grade, while the surrounding earth slopes to match existing grade at a two-to-one slope. An internal pump equipped with a float, motor, and anchor discharge pipe rests on a pump stand or block set twelve inches minimum clear from the bottom. The discharge pipe extends through the top cover and routes to discharge.
