A tack coat is applied at the vertical joint between the main concrete apron and the shoulder pavement. The shoulder pavement spans a width of 7.50 meters with a slope that varies per plan. Beyond the paved shoulder, the adjacent grass airfield subgrade slopes away at a rate varying from two to ten percent.
