A portable toilet unit sits upon a six-inch thick gravel bed enclosed by an earth berm with three-to-one slopes. The surrounding gravel layer consists of two to four-inch stone aggregate placed directly on the subgrade. The earth berm creates a protective perimeter barrier around the toilet pad.
