An insulating flange assembly connects a steel riser transitioning across grade with complete dielectric isolation. The joint incorporates a one-eighth-inch thick insulating gasket sandwiched between mating steel flanges. Flange bolts are isolated using full-length reinforced phenolic resin or Mylar sleeves, phenolic washers, and steel washers under typical flange nuts. The insulating flange kit is specified for water service in wet and dry locations with matching pressure ratings. Buried insulating joints require the protective coating system shown, and all installations must be tested and approved prior to backfill.
