A concrete pavement section comprises a concrete wearing surface, an underlying road base layer, and a prepared subgrade. A six-inch concrete layer and a four-inch road base serve standard duty traffic, while heavy duty thicknesses are determined per the project soils report. The subgrade provides the foundational support beneath the granular road base. All pavement sections and material thicknesses are subject to the recommendations of the geotechnical soils report.
