Security and protection barricades for fire hydrants and other utility infrastructure utilize a standard steel pipe measuring four inches in diameter for standard hydrants or six inches for high-pressure hydrants, embedded three feet into a concrete-filled twelve-inch diameter pier with four feet of minimum depth. Four-inch by one-quarter-inch thick flat bar horizontal bracing is set above hydrant outlets and reflectors are installed as required. General notes specify painting requirements using district-approved red, yellow, or green primers and finish coats.
