Buckling-restrained brace casing is embedded in a concrete slab with a surrounding one-inch low-density expanded polystyrene bead board bond breaker at the sides and a three-inch minimum thickness at the end. Maintain one-inch clearance at the sides and three-inch minimum clearance at the end between the casing and the concrete. A foam bond breaker is provided one inch clear on all sides of the casing for the portion extending into the slab at a stroke dimension of three inches minimum.
