A buckling-restrained brace frames into a wide-flange beam using a gusset plate welded to the beam web. One-half-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on three sides typically. Additional stiffeners are provided at the gusset as required by the brace manufacturer design. The wide-flange beam size is specified per plan.
