A gate valve mounts directly to a flanged water main using bolted connections. A cast iron valve box surrounds the upper portion of the valve body and extends upward through a variable depth to finished grade. A cast iron round head box with a diameter of one foot four inches sits flush with the finished grade, supported by a surrounding concrete collar measuring six inches deep.
