A type 3 flush concrete curb measuring six inches wide and nine inches deep is set upon a four-inch minimum compacted Class 2 aggregate base layer over subgrade preparation per geotechnical engineer's recommendations. The curb is reinforced with two continuous number 4 reinforcing bars at the top and bottom with a three-inch minimum clearance. Asphalt concrete pavement (AC) with a thickness over aggregate base (AB) abuts the side of the curb, featuring a half-inch typical radius at the top edge meeting the finished grade of adjacent material. Tooled control joints are spaced at five feet on center with expansion joints at twenty feet on center.
