This stormwater check dam detail consists of a compacted soil core constructed from onsite silt material, surfaced with a two-inch layer of washed crushed rock. The earthen berm features side slopes laid at two horizontal to one vertical maximum, terminating in a one-foot wide flat bench at the crest. The top of the check dam elevation is established per plan, with the rock layer extending four inches thick typically across the crest and slopes.
