A web doubler plate is welded to the structural steel column web with fillet welds or complete joint penetration groove welds executed per AWS D1.8 Clause 4.3. A stiffener plate is positioned at the beam connection with a three-sixteenths inch minimum edge weld size and extends four inches past the connection. A gusset plate connects to the assembly, with plate thicknesses proportioned relative to the doubler plate thickness, designated as t-doubler. Section A-A details the cross-sectional weld configuration and plate placement between the column flanges.
