A reinforced concrete dolly pad is set within a surrounding asphalt concrete paving assembly over a six-inch rock base. The pad measures ten feet wide with a thickness of eight inches, transitioning to adjacent six-inch thick asphalt paving. Three-quarter-inch diameter by one-foot-six-inch smooth dowels are spaced at eighteen inches on center, with one side greased in a dowel insert. Number four continuous reinforcing bars run on each side of the joint.
