A four-inch concrete pavement is supported by a four-inch sand bed compacted to ninety-five percent maximum density over a twenty-four-inch layer of approved non-expansive engineered fill per the soils report. The subgrade consists of twelve inches of scarified and compacted material meeting a minimum of ninety-five percent maximum density. A thickened edge is provided where the pavement is not bounded by hardscape, measuring eight inches wide by six inches deep. Reinforcement consists of number three reinforcing bars spaced at twenty-four inches on center each way, positioned one and one-half inches clear from the top surface. The actual thickness of the concrete and aggregate base is determined during construction by the geotechnical engineer.
