A perforated SDR 35 PVC pipe is installed with its perforations pointed down, sized per plan and set within a bed of number 57 gravel. The gravel trench is completely wrapped in two layers of 8 ounce per square yard geotextile filter fabric. The entire assembly sits adjacent to a concrete footing detailed per structural plans, located below the finished grade at the building face or top back of a retaining wall. Minimum clearances of 6 inches are maintained around the pipe and gravel bed.
