An eighteen-inch polyvinyl chloride drain basin, such as a Nyloplast unit or approved equivalent, is installed with a ductile iron frame and heel-safe grate flush with the finished sidewalk or landscape surface. A solid cover is used where noted on the plans, and all basins feature locking grates. Water-tight pipe connection adapters link six to eight-inch pipes to the basin at variable inverts determined per storm drain plans. The assembly rests on a six-inch minimum bedding course with backfill placed per specifications. A companion angle table specifies minimum horizontal angles between adapters ranging from forty-four to one hundred fifty degrees depending on adapter sizes.
