A braced frame connection at the intersection of a steel column and beam. A heavy gusset plate connects the diagonal bracing member to the column flange and the top flange of the supporting beam. Doubler plates are provided at the column web and beam web for local reinforcement against high shear and axial forces. The work point is located at the center of the column and one-half of the actual beam depth.
