Rebar placement at all corners of expansion joints that do not intersect a contraction joint. A Type C joint forms a diamond pattern around a circular penetration, reinforced with four number four by thirty inch epoxy coated deformed rebar placed in the concrete slab. Each reinforcing bar measures six feet by six feet typical, maintaining a one foot minimum clearance from the joint intersection. Contraction joints extend outward from the corners of the expansion joint assembly.
