A perforated PVC underdrain pipe is installed within an eighteen-inch wide trench wrapped in filter fabric and filled with porous backfill according to specification D-705. The trench features a six-inch minimum fabric overlap at the top and six inches of porous backfill beneath the pipe invert. Surrounding subbase and pavement layers consist of P-154 subbase, P-407 asphalt treated permeable base, and P-501 Portland cement concrete beneath the finish grade. Variable depth backfill extends up to the subbase.
