A 7-inch thick concrete truck slab abuts the face of a retaining wall or building with a 1/2-inch premolded expansion joint material running vertically along the junction. The slab rests upon a 6-inch layer of Class II aggregate base. Below the aggregate base lies a minimum 12-inch layer of lime-treated subgrade soil.
